Index Release Dates

  What's the 'Current' Index?

Knowing the actual date your ARM index is released to the public each month (index announcement date) is essential to finding the correct index value when using our historical data.

It's equally important to know the exact number of days prior to your interest rate change date used by your lender to determine the date on which the most current index value is selected. This number may vary from lender to lender.

For example, if your interest rate changed on Monday, May 11, 2006, and your lender used the most recent index figure available as of the date 15 days prior to each scheduled interest rate change date, the 'current index' would be the most recent index figure available as of Wednesday, April 26, 2006.

If your loan was tied to the COFI then the most recent index value available as of Wednesday, April 26, 2006 would be the February COFI (the March COFI was only announced on April 28, 2006).

In our example, although released almost 1.5 months ago, the 'current index' as of May 11 is the February(!) COFI.
